Terms and conditions of trade
These are the terms on which Kenya Kanga Collection sells to trade customers through trade.kenyakangacollection.com. Last updated 20 September 2026.
Thank you for choosing to stock Kenya Kanga Collection. Every order supports the team of women in our Nairobi workshop, and helps them grow their skills and bring more to the market.
In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean Kenya Kanga Collection, Langata Link Complex, Langata South Road, Karen, Nairobi, Kenya. “You” means the business that holds the trade account.
In short
- Trade accounts are for businesses, and we approve each one.
- Every product has a minimum quantity, and some are sold only in packs.
- Pay in full, or pay the deposit and then the balance before dispatch. The goods become yours when they are paid for in full.
- Dates are estimates. Work on a made-to-order piece starts when your payment or deposit arrives, and from then on the order cannot be cancelled.
- Check every delivery when it arrives, and tell us within 7 days if anything is missing or damaged.

1. These terms
1.1 These terms apply to every trade account and to every order placed through this site. By applying for an account or placing an order you accept them.
1.2 We may change them. The terms that apply to an order are the ones published here on the day the order was placed.
1.3 They are for businesses. This site does not sell to consumers: people buying for themselves are served by our retail shop at kenyakangacollection.com, under its own terms.
1.4 If we agree something different with you in writing, for example for a large or special order, what we agreed in writing comes first.
2. Your trade account
2.1 Trade accounts are for businesses that resell our products or use them in their business: shops, lodges, camps, hotels, companies, event planners and the like. We decide each application, usually within two to three working days, and may decline one without giving a reason.
2.2 Keep your details up to date and your password to yourself. You are responsible for every order placed through your account.
2.3 Trade prices are shown only to approved accounts. They are confidential: please do not publish them or pass them on.
2.4 We may suspend or close an account that is misused, that was opened with false details, or that owes us money.
3. What we make
3.1 Most of what we sell is cut and sewn by hand in our Nairobi workshop. Small differences in size, shade and the placing of a print from one piece to the next are normal, and are not faults.
3.2 Kanga is printed in many designs. Unless a product page says otherwise, photographs show the style and quality, and the designs within each colour are assorted and may differ from the photograph.
3.3 Colours look different from one screen to the next.
3.4 We make every effort to supply goods as described, but may make minor changes to dimensions and specifications without notice.
3.5 If we cannot supply something you ordered, we may offer goods of equal or better quality at no extra cost. If you would rather not take them, you may cancel that part of the order and we will refund what you paid for it.
4. Prices
4.1 Prices are in Kenya shillings. Buyers outside Kenya see and pay in US dollars, at the exchange rate we set for the site on the day of the order.
4.2 Prices include VAT where it applies, and nothing is added for tax at checkout. If you need an ETR tax invoice, tick the box at checkout and give your KRA PIN.
4.3 Delivery is charged separately and is shown at checkout before you pay.
4.4 We may change prices at any time without notice. The price of an order is the price shown when you placed it.
4.5 If a price on the site is plainly a mistake, we may cancel the order and refund anything you have paid for it.
5. Minimum quantities and packs
5.1 Each product shows its minimum quantity. The minimum counts pieces of that product across its colours and sizes, so a mixed dozen meets a minimum of twelve. Some products are sold only in packs.
5.2 The site does not take an order that is below a product’s minimum or that splits a pack.
6. Placing an order
6.1 Your order is an offer to buy. It becomes a contract when we confirm it by email. That email is your record: check it, and tell us straight away if anything in it is wrong.
6.2 We may decline an order, for example if stock has run out or we cannot deliver to you. If we do, we refund anything you have paid for it.
7. Payment
7.1 You pay through this site’s checkout: by M-Pesa for orders in Kenya shillings, or by debit or credit card through PesaPal. Card details go to PesaPal and never to us: we do not see or store them. By paying by card you confirm the card is yours to use. Any other way of paying, such as a bank transfer, is only by written agreement with us.
7.2 You may pay in full, or pay the deposit shown at checkout. We start work on an order when that payment has reached us. If you paid a deposit, the balance is due before dispatch or collection: we ask for it by email, with a link to pay it.
7.3 The goods remain ours until they are paid for in full.
7.4 If a payment is refused or reversed by your bank, your card issuer or the mobile network, we are not responsible for the delay that follows, and may hold or cancel the order.
8. When your order will be ready
8.1 Goods in stock are checked and packed before dispatch. Goods made to order take the number of working days shown on the product page. Your order shows when we expect to dispatch it and when it should reach you.
8.2 Those dates are estimates. We make every effort to keep to them, but we are not liable for loss caused by delay.
8.3 If we have not dispatched your order within 30 days after the latest dispatch date shown on it, you may cancel whatever has not been dispatched by writing to us, and we will refund what you paid for it. That is your only remedy for late delivery.
9. Delivery and collection
9.1 Within Kenya we deliver by courier to the area you choose at checkout. Outside Kenya we send by DHL Express, charged by weight. You may instead collect from us in Karen, or send a driver or courier to collect, at no charge.
9.2 Give us a full and correct address and a phone number that will be answered. If a delivery fails because the details were wrong or nobody was there to receive it, the cost of delivering again is yours.
9.3 For orders sent outside Kenya, any import duty, tax or clearance charge in the country of delivery is yours to pay.
9.4 Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to the address you gave, when you or your driver collect them, or when we hand them to a courier you arranged. If goods are damaged in the hands of a courier you arranged, the claim is against that courier.
9.5 You must take delivery when the goods are ready. If you do not, or if the balance remains unpaid after we have reminded you in writing, we may store and insure the goods at your expense, or sell them at the best price we can reasonably get and, after deducting our costs, pay you anything received above what you owed us or charge you any shortfall.
10. Shortages and damage
10.1 Check your delivery when it arrives. If anything is missing, damaged or not what you ordered, tell us in writing within 7 days of receiving it, with photographs. We cannot accept a claim made later than that.
10.2 We will replace what was missing or damaged. If we cannot, for example because it is out of stock, we will refund what you paid for it.
11. Faulty goods
11.1 We warrant that our goods are free from defects in workmanship and materials and fit for the purpose for which such goods are normally used. Because you are buying in the course of business, all other warranties and terms, express or implied, are excluded to the fullest extent the law allows.
11.2 If goods prove faulty, tell us in writing, with photographs, as soon as you find the fault. We will replace them or, if we cannot, refund what you paid for them.
11.3 Normal wear, damage after delivery, and washing or use against the care instructions are not faults. Nor are the variations described in section 3.
12. Returns and exchanges
12.1 Trade orders are not sold on sale or return, and we do not refund for a change of mind.
12.2 We may agree to exchange goods from stock for others if you ask within 7 days of delivery, the goods are unused and in their original packaging with their tags, and you pay the carriage both ways.
12.3 Goods made to order or embroidered for you cannot be exchanged or returned unless they are faulty.
13. Embroidery and your artwork
13.1 Where a product can be embroidered with a name or a logo, the site shows a starting price per piece. The final price depends on the artwork and the quantity: we confirm it with you before we start, and you are free not to go ahead.
13.2 By sending us a name, a logo or other artwork you confirm that it is yours or that you have permission to use it, and you agree to cover us against any claim that it infringes someone else’s rights.
13.3 We may decline artwork that we cannot reproduce well, or that we would not want our name associated with.
14. Cancelling an order
14.1 You may cancel an order before we start work on it or, for goods in stock, before they are dispatched. We will refund what you have paid.
14.2 Once we have started making an order it cannot be cancelled and the deposit is not refundable, because cloth has been cut and work done for you.
14.3 If we have to cancel an order, we refund in full what you have paid for it.
15. Our liability
15.1 Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
15.2 Otherwise, our liability for an order is limited to the price you paid for the goods concerned, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or any indirect loss.
15.3 We are not in breach of these terms where, in spite of our reasonable efforts, we are prevented from doing something by events outside our control, such as strikes, shortages of materials, failures of power, networks or transport, civil disturbance, extreme weather or acts of government.
16. Our photographs and our name
16.1 The photographs, descriptions and designs on this site belong to us.
16.2 While you stock our products you may use our photographs and descriptions of them to sell them, and may say that you stock Kenya Kanga Collection. Please do not alter the photographs, use them to sell anything else, or use our name in a way that suggests you are us.
17. Your information
17.1 We hold what you give us: your business and contact details, your delivery addresses, your KRA PIN if you ask for ETR invoices, your orders, and your messages to us.
17.2 We use it to decide your application; to take, make, deliver and invoice your orders; to keep our accounts; and to tell you about new ranges and ordering dates.
17.3 We share it only with those who need it for those purposes: the payment providers (Safaricom for M-Pesa, PesaPal for cards), the couriers who deliver to you, including DHL, and the companies that provide our accounting, email and website hosting. We do not sell it, and we never pass your contacts to anyone else without your permission.
17.4 We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and your account details for as long as the account is open.
17.5 You can stop our news emails at any time: use the link at the foot of any of them, untick the box under My account, Account details, or tell us. Emails about your own orders are part of the service and carry on.
17.6 This site sets only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in and to remember your order. It carries no advertising or tracking cookies.
17.7 Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you may ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Write to info@kenyakangacollection.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
18. Law
18.1 These terms, and every order placed under them, are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute.
